Costa Mesa- On Monday morning, history was witnessed as the former World War II-era Army barracks was moved to its new permanent home at the Orange County Fairgrounds where it will be the centerpiece for the new veteran’s museum opening on Veteran’s Day 2016.
It took about two hours to move the 25 ton, 5,000 sqft building barracks less than a mile- from Lot G at Arlington Dr. and Newport Blvd. to the front of the property near Centennial Farm. Similar equipment that was used to move the space shuttle Endeavor was utilized to move the historic building.
ABC 7 News was there to capture this historic event:

The museum, Heroes Hall, will be a hallmark presentation building for the AMVETS OC and will be housed in a relocated World War II Army barracks at the OC Fair and Event Center.
